‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Teaser Released
Stranger Things 4 is officially on the way. Not that things were uncertain regarding whether or not we would see another season of the hit Netflix Original, but still, it’s definitely nice for the fans to rest easy knowing it’s coming. The announcement came in a teaser, which provided very little information regarding when we can expect to find out what’s next for our beloved characters after last season’s cliffhanger.
Although the new trailer was light on information, the trailer did reveal – in a very ominous fashion – that “we’re not in Hawkins any more”. This is in line with what Matt Duffer told EW shortly after the release of season three, stating, “I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plot lines into areas outside of Hawkins”.
In the background of the teaser, we can see the world slowly fading into the Upside Down, complemented by the now iconic theme song. This could be hinting at the Upside Down playing a larger role, as the mysterious dimension has not yet been the primary location for the show’s events – instead, it has been a nesting ground for its monsters.
It’s also been announced that Stranger Things showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer (affectionately known as The Duffer Brothers) have signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, which is no doubt off the back of the huge success of Stranger Things and what it has done for the streaming service that continues to grow year on year.
The obvious guess would be that we’ll find out more about the kids of Hawkins High soon. The show has never stuck to a traditional release schedule, but we can hope we won’t be waiting too long. For now, check out the new teaser below.
