‘Face/Off’ Reboot in the Works from Paramount

Paramount is reportedly rebooting the 1997 action thriller Face/Off, which starred John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. This news comes from Deadline, who first broke the story.

The original, directed by John Woo, saw Travolta and Cage going head-to-head. Travolta plays FBI agent Sean Archer, out for revenge, doing anything he can to ensure Caster Troy, played by Cage, gets what he deserves for killing his son. The film itself is very high-concept, with both characters swapping faces with one another during the course of the film.

Currently, nobody has been cast and there is no director attached. Oren Uziel, writer of 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox, who most recently wrote the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, is set to pen the script. Fast and Furious producer Neal Moritz is also attached. David Permut, producer of the original, will be returning as an executive to aid with the reboot.

So far, the only other significant news is that the film will feature a new cast. This reboot will certainly be an interesting story to keep an eye on as more details come to the surface.
