‘Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’ Reveals More About First Vampire Abilities

Paradox only announced that they were working on Vampire: the Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 a month ago, but the publisher is already starting to release hints of what we can expect from the game. Their latest is a short video detailing the powers you have as a member of the Thinblood clan of vampires.

In the world of Vampire: the Masquerade, Thinbloods are considered second-class citizens among vampires of other clans, thanks to their weak blood quality that makes them much less powerful. You’ll start out in this game as a Thinblood, but not to worry, as you can join other clans and hone new abilities of your own.

As a newly embraced vampire, you have the choice of three Thinblood powers, known as disciplines, which give you a different set of supernatural abilities. These include: bat-related abilities (like gliding, floating and being able to summon a swarm of them), Mentalism (levitation and telekinesis) and Mist (conjuring up fog to disable your enemies, or just to help you sneak around).

Joining other clans lets you unlock even more disciplines and upgrades, and you’ll have five clans to choose from in the upcoming game.

A long-awaited sequel to the 2004 cult classic vampire RPG, Bloodlines 2 is set amongst the vampire society of modern-day Seattle. You are a freshly created Thinblood and suddenly find yourself thrown into the ruthless world of vampire politics. Tensions are on the rise between different factions, and you’re caught in the middle. It’s up to you to pick a side, unravel the mystery of your new vampirism and do whatever it takes to rise through the ranks.

Brian Mitsoda – the creative mind behind the original Bloodlines – is back as a writer, so we can expect some sharp dialogue as well as the same fantastic world-building we got in the first game.

Check out Paradox’s video below for more on Thinblood abilities. You can also check out Paradox’s recent Twitch stream to see some more gameplay related to these disciplines.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to launch next year for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
