The Duffer Brothers, creators of the Netflix sensation Stranger Things, have divulged that they have begun to work on season three of the hit show.
Stranger Things has captivated us all, and here at Vampire Squid, we definitely took our binge-game to eleven when the second season started streaming on Netflix. Now, it has been revealed that work has started on the show’s next series.
“We are [in] very early days on season three, and we’re still figuring it out,” Ross Duffer said at the Vulture Festival in LA, before adding a quick retraction – “I probably wasn’t supposed to say that. That’s not official; that wasn’t an official announcement — we’re just working on it, just for our own amusement… for fun!”
We all knew that a third season was coming, as Matt Duffer revealed that due to the challenges of working with child actors, the next instalment would be subject to a time skip from the end of the second season. He said:
“Our kids are ageing. We can only write and produce the show so fast. They’re going to be almost a year older by the time we start shooting season three. It provides certain challenges. You can’t start right after season two ended. It forces you to do a time jump. It’s a long way of saying that yeah, we’re going to do a time jump.”
It may be a year or so until we get to binge-watch the entirety of Stranger Things 3 but we are certainly psyched to see more of the Hawkins gang.
If you haven’t seen Stranger Things yet, the Squid orders you to crawl out of the Upside-Down and get yourself over to Netflix to see what the hype is all about!
