Grimmfest Announces the Launch of Easter Horror Nights 2021

The Grimmfest team have just announced a new annual festival taking place over the Easter weekend, which will complement the long-established festival of horror and cult cinema they always run in October.

Kicking off on April 1st and building on the undeniable success of Grimmfest 2020, which took place remotely during the pandemic, the event will also be “live” online. Boasting a selection of genre films from across the globe, there is an impressive roster of titles to choose from, as well as a selection of some of the best new short films from around the world. There will also be exclusive introductions and Q&As with the cast and crew of each feature.

The Barcelona Vampiress

The festival will open with the UK premiere of Kourosh Ahari‘s Iranian-American haunted hotel horror, The Night, alongside the UK premiere of Lluis Danes‘ reimagining of the real-life case of The Barcelona Vampiress. The festival will then continue for four more days with double bill screenings of ten more feature film premieres.

Arrow Video will also present a special double bill screening of two eagerly awaited titles: the unsettling and emotionally gripping ‘possession road movie’ Threshold (Powell Robinson and Patrick R. Young), and Justin McConnell‘s documentary on the fast-paced world of the movie industry, Clapboard Jungle. From the director of celebrated horror/thriller Lifechanger, the doc features revealing interviews on the ups and downs of genre filmmaking.

Threshold

Festival director Simeon Halligan said:
“We can’t wait to unleash this wonderful selection of movies on Grimmfest fans. Online, at home, but together in spirit. Settle down at home, for five ‘full on’ days of brilliant horror movie premieres”.

Grimm Easter ‘Online’ passes are available now from the official website, where you can also find out more about the superb line-up of films.
