‘Train to Busan’ Gets a Terrifying Sequel
The eagerly awaited sequel to Train to Busan is rumoured to be underway! South Korean director Yeon Sang-ho is said to be scripting the new film, which has the working title Peninsula. Whilst we have limited details at this time, we can confirm that the production is planned to begin in 2019. A representative of Sang-ho has stated:
“The film will revisit the same zombie virus that was seen in the original movie, except this time the focus will be expanded to the entire Korean peninsula.
We are planning to begin filming in the first half of next year. We still have not cast any actors, so we are still preparing a lot of different things.”
Sang-ho also released a ghoulish animated prequel called Seoul Station in 2017. The film follows the beginning of the outbreak. All hell breaks loose as an elderly man turns a homeless man into a human snack, and Hye-sun, a frightened girl on the run, witnesses the gruesome ordeal.
If you didn’t manage to catch the original 2016 zombie-thriller starring Gong Yoo, Jung Yu-mi and Ma Dong-seok, you can sink your teeth into the official UK trailer below.
