Latest Trailer for ‘The Outer Worlds’ Explores Dystopian Halcyon Colony

The latest trailer for Obsidian Entertainment’s highly anticipated The Outer Worlds dropped at this year’s PAX West. It introduces us to the world of the Halcyon Colony, the location in which the story takes place. The trailer comes in the form of a recruitment ad for the colony, showcasing its vast and varied world to the viewer.

During the trailer, we see the daring landscapes of the world, from the bustling “productive employment community” that is Terra 2 to the “gently terraformed and pristine” Monarch, which looks much wilder and brighter than the aforementioned Terra 2. As well as a tour of the locations, the trailer gives a brief insight into the gameplay that players should expect.

Obsidian’s return to the dystopian RPG has been welcomed by many. Fallout: New Vegas, their last visit to this style of game, was released just shy of a decade ago, and many still refer to it as the strongest entry in the Fallout series.

Despite the recent acquisition of Obsidian by Microsoft, The Outer Worlds is to be released on October 25 on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, with a Nintendo Switch edition coming at a later date.
