I See X-Files: Haley Joel Osment Cast in ‘The X-Files’

Last year we saw the return of iconic science-fiction series The X-Files with a critically acclaimed 6-episode revival. Now, we go back in search of the truth with a brand new ten-part series set to hit screens in the New Year.

Plus, there’s exciting news for horror fans, who will recognise the latest cast member from the iconic horror moment “I see dead people” in M. Night Shyamlan’s The Sixth Sense from 1999. That’s right, Haley Joel Osment is set to make a guest appearance in an episode serving as an origin story for Walter Skinner, Mulder and Scully’s boss.

At New York Comic Con, the show’s creator, Chris Carter, remained tight-lipped about the character Osment will star as; but he did tease us with a spooky, yet intense trailer for the season. We were also teased by Mitch Pileggi, who reprised his role as Skinner in the latest series. He let slip that:

“Fans will find out who he is, where he comes from and why he is the way he is.”

While it is unclear at the moment who Osment will play in the episode, there is no shortage of unconfirmed rumours. Will he play a younger version of Skinner? Will he be another figure in Skinner’s past? We simply don’t know and only time will tell. One thing’s for sure, we’re happy to see Osment back in action in a horror role!

So that just leaves us with one tiny question – do you believe?
