Director Jeremy Saulnier Departs from Season 3 of ‘True Detective’
A shocking revelation for True Detective fans, as director Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room) has unexpectedly pulled out of split directing duties with Nic Pizzolatto, due to reported scheduling issues.
Fans of the show will be saddened to learn that Saulnier, one of the most popular directors on the scene right now, only managed to direct two episodes, before parting ways with the show very recently.
All is not lost though, as he will be replaced by Daniel Sackheim (Game of Thrones) as co-director and executive producer of Season 3.

In a very sombre tweet, Saulnier approached the announcement with a mere “No comment”.
The new season’s cast includes: Scoot McNairy, Stephen Dorff, Carmen Ejogo, Mahershala Ali, Mamie Gummer, Rhys Wakefield, Ray Fisher, Sarah Gadon, Emily Nelson, Michael Greyeyes, Brandon Flynn, Michael Graziadei and Jon Tenney.
Its synopsis reads:
“Season 3 tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”
