‘Death Stranding’ and ‘The Last of Us Part II’ Confirmed for E3 2018
E3 2018 will take place in June at the Los Angeles Convention Centre, with developers and publishers from the gaming industry set to reveal what they’ve been working on over the course of the previous year.
The event is one of the highlights of the calendar for hardcore and casual gamers alike, with the promise of gameplay walk-throughs and teaser trailers sparking debate and excitement in the community. With this in mind, Sony have decided to take a less secretive approach towards the event on this occasion, detailing the main focus of their press conference via the PlayStation Blogcast.
The Last of Us Part II on PS4
According to Shawn Layden, Chairman of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, the presentation will take a detailed look at four of the company’s upcoming titles: Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Spider-Man, and The Last of Us Part II.
For horror enthusiasts, the stand-out names on this list will likely be the first and last entries, with Death Stranding spawning from the mind of one of the gaming industry’s most inventive and enigmatic figures, Hideo Kojima, and The Last of Us Part II continuing the story of one of the best games ever made.
As things stand we’ve seen trailers for both of these titles, although in the case of Death Stranding the cinematics have done little to clarify what the game is actually about, and now may be the time for Sony to show gameplay footage. However, given the creative endeavour that making an ambitious and artistically rewarding game must be, the prospect of gameplay is something to hope for rather than to expect.
Sony’s E3 press conference will take place on June 11th at 6pm (PDT).
